It all began with a passion for the aquarium hobby. I spent years breeding freshwater shrimp and a variety of tropical fish, eventually expanding into growing aquarium plants. The hobby became more successful than I ever imagined, and before long I had more shrimp and plants than I could keep.

I started giving them to local hobbyists and even local fish stores—for free. Seeing people get excited about the hobby was far more rewarding than making a profit.

As demand grew, I began sharing my plants with hobbyists across the country. I didn't charge for the plants themselves—buyers only paid the cost of shipping. That experience taught me something important: making products affordable helps more people enjoy the hobbies they love.

That simple idea became the foundation of my business.

Today, BK's Paws follows that same philosophy. While we've expanded beyond aquariums into products for dogs and cats, our mission hasn't changed.
